SEMITRON W. Röck’s test house provides services designed to optimize semiconductor workflows, ensure component quality and authenticity, and deliver scalable solutions for both small and large-scale production runs.
The new membership underscores the critical importance of engaging with other distributors and receiving targeted support in applying and interpreting environmental legislation – particularly in the electronics industry with its many specific challenges. The association provides its members with a professional platform for discussion, delivers meaningful market analyses and data, and reinforces their positioning within the value chain.
Exchanging information with other industry players on a common platform opens up additional perspectives and approaches for day-to-day business. By enabling direct communication that advances the distribution landscape, it creates benefits for all members and distribution customers.
Jürgen Rohland, Managing Director at SEMITRON W. Röck: “We expect our FBDi membership to facilitate internal exchange of experience and perspectives. We’re particularly interested in the working group content on topics like environmental and EU regulations, and compliance.”
Founded in 1975, SEMITRON W. Röck GmbH is headquartered in Küssaberg with three locations throughout Germany and one in Switzerland. With 176 employees, the distributor generated revenue of EUR 276 million in 2023. Through partnerships with industry leaders, the company delivers products across the entire signal chain – semiconductor ICs, packaged products, software, and services.
At its test house, the distributor offers comprehensive solutions for electronic components – from programming to long-term storage: component programming, authenticity verification for electronic components, electronic component testing, long-term packaging for electronic components, and tape-and-reel services for ICs.
Founded in 2003, FBDi represents the interests of its distribution members, who account for roughly three-quarters of the electronic component sales volume in Central Europe (DACH). The association oversees the entire electronics value chain.
Beyond developing and maintaining data on the Central European distribution market, competence teams build substantial market-relevant expertise on key regulatory topics in the electronics industry (including CE, directives, and regulations). This expertise positions FBDi as a sought-after partner for policymakers, electronics manufacturers, and customers. Through membership in the international distribution association IDEA, FBDi exchanges information with other associations at the European level.
