The S-19110x series enables direct detection of 12V lead–acid battery voltage, reducing Electronic Control Unit (ECU) current consumption.
Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) launches new automotive voltage detectors, the S-19110 series, that are capable of 125 degree C operation and 36V input voltage while allowing for direct detection of 12V lead–acid battery voltage. Typical applications include ECUs for engines, transmissions and suspensions, Anti-lock Brake Systems, related Electric Vehicle equipment, and Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle electronics.
The S-19110 series was specifically developed to meet the demanding high quality requirements for automotive use, and will be AEC-Q100 certified. The S-19110 series has a wide operating temperature range from -40 to 125 degrees C, low current consumption of 600nA, and a voltage detection range of 3.0V to 10.0V available in 0.05V steps which can be set internally and requires no external parts. Two types are available for voltage detection: a VDD detection type and a SENSE detection type. The SENSE detection type has a SENSE pin in addition to a VDD pin, and the added SENSE pin allows stable output even when the SENSE pin voltage drops to 0V. The S-19110 series is offered in the lead (Pb)-free/halogen-free SOT-23-6 package.
